Willy was a true gentleman and a legend. He was fun loving, caring and vivacious, with a wicked sense of humour.

In loving memory of Derek (Willy) Wilson, who died peacefully on the 8th July 2023 after a long illness, bravely borne.

Willy aged 86 years was the beloved husband of the late Patricia, much loved father of Caroline and Beverley, a dear father in law of Paul, loving grandad of Samantha, Rebecca and Millie, great grandad of Arthur and a very dear brother of Margaret and the late Joyce.

He was mad about all sports and his lifelong passion was cricket, having played for 50 years and he remained a strong supporter throughout his life. He was a lifelong member and stalwart of Jer Lane Cricket Club, Bradford.

Having retired at 60, Willy loved travel which took him all over the world, together with his beloved Patricia.

We are very thankful for the care and compassion shown to Willy by the NHS during his elder years and the period of his failing health. Notably he received excellent care from the NHS Trusts in Leeds, Bradford and Calderdale who are all working under increasing pressure.

In his final weeks he was cared for by staff at Cooper House Nursing Care Home, Bradford. We would like to thank everyone for the love shown to him.
